12/7/2023 0 Comments Lexi nails![]() ![]() Still a great deal, but it was the mannerism from the staff that gave me a sour taste with how they handled my question. ![]() Gel x is $79 with now a $12 removal fee which I have never been charged up until today. They make you feel like you are crazy and that the price has always been this when clearly I have receipts from each visit. However, I do not agree with the dis respectful comebacks from the staff when you ask why is the price higher than the last. The past 2-3 times I have been charged more than the usual, and I get a price increase with the way inflation is. I’ve had no issues with gel x until recently. There is a huge inconsistency with the quality of work and normally is a 50/50 shot of how good or bad your nails and toes will look. I have been coming here for 4 months now and each time my experience is less and less great. Please save your money and go to one of the other 8 million nail salons in New York. See attached pictures for gel nails HOURS after. My nails have consistently chipped after 2-4 days (yes, with gel) and when I return to have them fix it, they are usually too busy or refuse. Finally, the overall quality of services here is nothing like it was a few years ago. I once had a nail tech completely botch my nail design, and when I stated it wasn’t what I had shown her a picture of, she shuffled off and the manager asked if I’d like a solid color instead, then charged me for the “original services I booked”. Thirdly, if you come for the nail art, please be warned: there is only 1 reliable nail artist at this establishment, and that is the artist producing 99% of their Instagram content. While a normal gel manicure in Manhattan ranges from $50-70, you will be charged a whopping $100+ for any kind of gel (no extensions, no art, no nothing) at Lexi. ![]() I waited 45 minutes a few weeks ago for an appointment only to be told that I’d need to wait another 30 minutes in order to start my scheduled services. If you have an appointment, don’t bother. The prices, quality, and overall service/management of Lexi have plummeted. Cons: In the last year, this place has changed significantly. Pros: If you like lighting money on fire for fun, this place is definitely for you. I’ve been coming to Lexi Nails for several years now, so I’ll try to keep this as to-the-point as possible. Really bad taste in my mouth after this and shame on them for lack of transparency and hidden pricing. I left without a word because clearly no one was understanding why this would be upsetting for the customer. If I was told there was a charge like that DURING my service I would have turned it down. The nail tech quoted me $68 at the start of the service and demanded to know at the end how I was going to tip her - “tip cash or venmo?” - I said cash but ended up keeping it altogether when I saw my card was charged $84 without any explanation of how they got to that number - the nail tech said to my face afterward that it’s an extra $10 charge for the “different shape than what I came in with” um excuse me. Ladies, I have been getting my nails done for 15 years and never has any salon charged anything on top of my service for shape. They had the audacity to charge me $10 extra on top of my service for “nail shaping” because I asked for narrow square nails instead of regular square.
